Uganda’s Deo Akope shot 11 over par 155 gross on the opening two days of action at the prestigious Shaikh Maktoum Dubai Open at the Al Badia Golf Club in Dubai.
He started his opening round with a score of 82 and follow up with 73 hoping that his scores can make the cut with the organisers of the tournament considering the top 50 golfers in this event that is part of the Mena Golf Tour.
The top prize is $50,000(sh126.3m) that will be shared by 50 professional players in the tournament other East African golfers in the event include Kenya’s duo of Greg Snow and Hardeep Theuty together with Rwanda’s Jean Baptiste Hakizimana.
Akope will then tackle the Ras Al Khaumah Classic due October 13-16 and wind up with the Abu Dhabi Citizen Open at Saadiyat Club on October 20-23.
