FUFA Vice President (in charge of technical and super league), Mujib Kasule has resigned.

“We acknowledge receipt of Mujib’s resignation letter but the FUFA General assembly will have to first convene, otherwise he is still serving as far as we are concerned”, FUFA’s official statement released on Thursday evening stated.

The statement was issued by the Federation on Thursday evening.

Talk of Mujib’s resignation picked momentum when his parent club, Proline football club, where is one of the directors was announced as being relegated from the FUFA Super league.

When Kawowo Sports approached Mujib for a comment, he could neither confirm nor deny the resignation act but promised to issue an official statement on Friday.

“As a professional, i will release a personal statement about the issue on Friday”, he said in a rather low toned voice.

Kasule reportedly ceased to be the Super League Club Representative because his club Proline was relegated from Super League to Big League by Jinja Declaration which governs association football.

It is however not so clear whether Kasule has also resigned his second post of FUFA Vice President (technical).

It has emerged one of the reasons as to why FUFA is taking time to let Kasule go is about the ongoing AFCON 2015 qualification campaign.

Kasule becomes the 5th high profile FUFA official to step aside from football matters in the country after Lawrence Mulindwa (former president), Anthony Kimuli (finance head), Rogers Mulindwa, (FUFA spokesperson) and John Bazilengedde (federation’s lawyer).
