Uganda Cranes Na – Mutima Regional Tours:

Uganda Cranes Head Coach, Milutin ‘Micho‘ Sedrojevic is glad about the ongoing Nile Special Uganda Cranes Na – Mutima’ regional tours.

“We have a crop of players who are in the off season. Such regional tours help us to check their fitness levels bearing in mind of upcoming AFCON qualifier against Equatorial Guinea”, Micho told Kawowo Sports.

The national football team embarked on the countrywide regional tour on Sunday with a slim 1 – 0 victory over the Western team at the Kakyeeka play grounds in Mbarara District.

Second half substitute, Farouq Miya notched the winning goal for The Cranes in the dying minutes of the game where Brian Umony was captain.

Micho is however not satisfied  with the overall performance of the team. “My boys didn’t hit even the 20% ability in the game. They had heavy legs due to the six days of training in Kampala”, he is quoted by www.fufa.co.ug.

Skipper misses Western trip:

Team captain, Emma Okwi missed the game (family reasons) while his Yanga African teammate, Hamis ‘Diego’ Kizza had a muscle strain.

The Ethiopian based  duo of Isaac Isinde and goalie Robert Odongkara are also yet to join the team as they are busy with their team, St George in the Ethiopian F.A cup.

He is however optimistic the entire ‘Na – Mutima’ campaign will help the players improve with fine tuning their fitness levels.

The Cranes, who have regrouped on Tuesday morning with a gymnasium session at Acacia mall will travel to Soroti this coming weekend at the Soroti play grounds on Sunday.

Nile Special fully facilitates this ‘Na- Mutima‘ campaign with the primary objective of bringing the national team players closer to the local communities.

The Campaign will traverse the entire country.

How The Cranes Started in West:
