Uganda Cranes goal keeping coach, Fred Kajoba has been unveiled as the new head coach for Uganda Premier League side, Bright Stars F.C coach on Monday morning at the club’s training base in Matugga.
I am glad for my new position at such a great club. The onus is on the players, management, technical wing and the fans to take Bright Stars to another level.
Kajoba replaces Paul Kiwanuka who has had a splendid start to the 2014/15 season that seen the Kawempe clinch 3 victories and draws apiece with a single loss against last season’s defending champions, Kampala City Council (KCC).

Kajoba was at the end of October reportedly suspended by his former side, Simba F.C on grounds of poor performance and indiscipline.

But close sources to the veteran former Cranes goal keeper, indicate his contract at the army side had run out and had reportedly signed a pre – contract with Bright Stars F.C in June before Simba traveled for the East African military games in Zanzibar.

He brings to the Kawempe side a wealth of experience though insiders in Bright Stars are worried of his commitment with the Senior national team, The Cranes.
Kajoba is a great coach, how will he balance his time well for the Cranes and Bright Stars,
Muhammod Ssejjemba, a staunch fanatic of Bright Stars F.C ponders.

He signs a 2 year deal worth U.shs 2.5M per month with special undisclosed match and training allowances.

He becomes the third coach to complete the move in the 2014/15 UPL season after Sam Ssimbwa replaced Steven Bogere at SC Villa and Harunah Kebba replacing Kajoba at Simba F.C

Kajoba’s immediate task for Bright Stars F.C is a tricky short trip to Namboole Stadium against Moses Basena and Paul Nkata’s Kira Young F.C.

David Isabirye is a senior staff writer for Kawowo Sports where he covers most of the major events.
