Preparations for the highly billed farewell match for Uganda Cranes roving midfielder, Hakim Magumba have garnered lightening pace.

As you read this, the best news is that all the friends of Magumba whom he had personally invited for the match have all answered in the affirmative.

Current FUFA Chief Executive Officer, Edgar Watson Ssuubi, James Odoch, David Obua, Hassan Mubiru, Wasswa Bbosa, Phillip Ssozi, Timothy Batabaire, Fred Tamale, Willy Jamil Kyambadde, Nestroy Kizito, Phillip Obwinyi and the like have all confirmed.

According to Isaac Mukasa, the brain behind this historic match, the first of its nature in Uganda’s football, preparations have all taken shape;

SC Villa had a league match post-poned to allow the honour of Magumba. We shall have all the stars assembled for the game and the former Uganda Cranes skipper, Ibrahim Ssekagya might make a surprise appearance in the match

There will be a match to curtain raise for the big occasion before the D-Match when a select side of the Uganda Sports Press Association (USPA) entertains SC Villa fans’ select team.

Mukasa assures the fans and Magumba well wishers of the best entertainment both on the playing arena and off as Golden Production band plays the latest hits.

Magumba remains one of the best midfielders to grace the football scene for mazy runs on and off the ball.

He played with Iganga Town Council, Sports Club Villa, Atraco in Rwanda before featuring for Kira Young at the dawn of his career.

He made a come back to the his ‘home’ at Villa Park and won the Uganda Cup with the Jogoos after SC Villa beat Kampala City Council 3-0 in the re-play of the 2014/15 Uganda Cup.

He is currently an Airtel Rising Stars football ambassador.
