Burundi defeat Sudan, through to quarters unbeaten

Burundi were 1-0 winners over Sudan and went through to the quarter finals of this year's CECAFA Senior Challenge Cup unbeaten at Wankuluku grounds on Saturday. Chris Nduwagira's 16th minute goal was enough to seize the initiative as they progressed to the last eight unbeaten.

In their first two games, they defeated Somalia 5-1 and also edged Tanzania 1-0. No other side is yet to drop a point apart from them and hosts Uganda. It leaves so many questions to be asked of Sudan, a side that took part in this year's AFCON in Equatorial Guinea and Gabon about eleven months ago.

Last year in Dar es- Salaam, Sudan eliminated Burundi at the quarters. But Burundi had finished top of their Group with seven points. It included the eventual winners Uganda. Uganda lost their encounter 1-0 after an own goal from custodian Robert Odongkara.
