Ugandan heavyweight Odeke to fight Iranian Nassab for WBF title belt

Uganda's hottest heavyweight prospect Kennedy "Bad News" Odeke, will have to wait to unleash "Bad News" to his Iranian opponent Sayed Abbas Nassab for the World Boxing Forum Africa cruiserweight title belt on August 9 at the Lugogo Indoor Arena.

The fight is being promoted by Big Strikers Promotions his promoters under Uganda Boxing Union it will also have a WBC Middle East middleweight contest where Uganda's Haruna "Banabana" Hassan will take on Iran's Dehghani Mohammed for the vacant belt.

"It's unfortunate that the fight that was scheduled June 28 at the same venue has been postponed due to unavoidable circumstances," UBU chairman Godfrey Kiwanuka said at the fight launch this morning at Hotel Africana. "We cannot hold this fight this week cause their is a national strike and then the Moslem community is set for Ramadhan period."

Big Strikers the promoters of the fight also unveiled their sponsors that include Mogas Uganda Limited that was represented by Partha Ghosh, the managing director of the lubricant company, the other sponsor is Boston View Restaurant that has opted to fed Odeke until he stops fighting.

Other fights scheduled include a national junior middleweight title fight against Mongolia Mustapha taking on Juma Waiswa while Atenyi Nzeire will take on Mohammed Gashunga from Rwanda in a flyweight contest others will see Richard Opidex tussling it out with Joseph Kyeyune in a Welterweight bout while Robert Mudawa takes on Edward Senkenyi in a featherweight bout.

Charges for the fight will go for 100,000 Gold, 50,000 Silver and 20,000 general stands.
