Charles Ssekyaya has been crowned the Nile USPA sports personality for the month of March after he won the African Weightlifting championships last month in Nairobi.
Ssekyaya managed to collect 715 points beating off competition from Rally ace and 2010 national rally
Ugandan weightlifter, Charles Sekyaaya is optimistic that he can raise decent results in this year’s Olympics. Sekyaaya, a bronze medalist at the 2008 Commonwealth youth games in Pune, India expects a lot of competition at the London games. “If I tell you that I will secure a medal, then that’s a lie. All I can say is that I will compete to the best” he said.
Ugandan weightlifter Charles Ssekyaaya based in the US received a wild card from the International Weightlifting Federation (IWF) to compete in the London Olympic Games due July 27-August 12.
