Kickboxing federation ‘accepts bribe’ to sanction Tugume-Malik rematch

UKF gets bribe to sanction Tugume-Malik rematch

Uganda Kickboxing Federation (UKF) has reportedly forcefully sanctioned a rematch between Titus Tugume and Malik Kaliisa on July 13 after taking a bribe from Kaliisa’s promoter Sylvia Awori. In the meeting held on Tuesday afternoon had Kaliisa’s girl friend and promoter Sylvia Awori, Malik,  Tugume’s promoter Patrick Kanyomozi, the entire UKF with the representatives from Tugume’s camp but not his manager Emma Kiwalabye.

Tugume told kawowo Sports how he is sure his manager met the federation and Awori but he is scared to admit.

“He met the federation and discussed terms on my behalf without my knowledge.” “They were all one-decided in making decisions never gave my promoter a chance to explain anything,” he said.

Tugume was preparing for his Intercontinental fight with Lozenzo Volodymir from Ukraine on July 6 before his Manager Emmanuel Kiwalabye and UKF decided to agree with Sylvia Awori. Tugume also confirmed how the arrangement was a big shock as he was eyeing the Intercontinental title. “Am not happy, the federation has forced me to have a rematch with Malik.”Tugume insisted his Manager (Kiwalabye) has everything to do with the development after his recent behavior. “He keeps on dodging me, doesn’t pick my call and never turns up for meetings,”

Tugume vows re-teach Kaliisa a lesson then move on to better things. “As soon as I defend that title, am going to hand it over to the federation and focus in my international career.” Last year Tugume brutally beat Kaliisa to the then vacant National Kickboxing Title and the latter bashfully asked for a rematch.</p
