Kampala University Inter-campus Games Kick off Friday

The 3rd Edition of Kampala University Inter-campus Games will be hosted by Kampala University Masaka Campus starting on 14th-16th December, 2012 under the theme, “Talent Identification and skill Development.” In last year’s edition the main Campus in Ggba emerged the victors.
In this edition it’s all about identifying talent with in the University students who shall be representing the campus in the forth coming Inter University Games which shall be slated in the University of Dare salaam, Tanzania next year.
Participating campuses include Jinja campus, Luweero campus, school of Nursing and Gradual school Mutundwe, main campus Ggaba and the host Masaka Campus.
Major sports disciplines to be competed in include football, Athletics, volleyball, Handball, Basketball, Badminton, Taekwondo, Karate, Netball and many other disciplines.
National team participants shall also be participating like Annet Negesa the African 800m champion, Nannyondo Winnie-World Junior finalist, Emong David- special Olympian, Titus Tugume-National Kick boxer, Amisi Katened and Fatma Matovu are national football players, Halima Nakachwa-National Netballer, Andrew Kimaseruka- Defending National Taekwondo Bantam weight Champion and many others.
Speaking to Kawowo sports, the Vice Chancellor Al.Hajji Prof. Badru Ddungu Kateregga said “in the bid to reveal the underlying talents with in the University we always put up inter campus Competitions between our campuses and promote the Co-curricular activities which are essentials in the education sector.”
