National Team trials preparations for the 6th World Cup Wood ball Championship 2014 kick off on Saturday June 7th with National team trials at Makerere University Business School (MUBS)-Nakawa.

Over 70 players have been summoned basing on their performance during the Uganda Wood ball Federation organized events in 2014 and last year’s NUSFU Games.

The top 36 players after 24 gates will further be screened to get the final 24 who will go into a residential training camp at Ndejje University – Main Campus in August under the guidance of Mr. George Isabirye.

The final team of 24 competitors will be made up of Primary, Secondary and University students as well as corporate individuals who make the cut who will go on to compete in the Open and youth (U-17) categories.

The World Cup this year will take place in Sanya, China and will run from September 5th -11th.

Team Uganda has had past competitors in the Wood ball World cup with Atamba Onesmus carrying the flag in 2010 and 2012 fielding up to eight participants including Lilian Zawedde.
