MUBS vs KIU ends prematurely | University Football League

MUBS 1-0 KIU (game abandoned after 61 minutes)

The second leg semifinal match between Makerere University Business School (MUBS) and Kampala International University (KIU) was abandoned after 61 minutes of play.

The University Football League (UFL) epic game had kicked off Wednesday afternoon at MUBS arena in Nakawa ended shortly after MUBS had scored a goal.
Shortly after MUBS had scored in 61st minute, the home fans entered the pitch in numbers to cerebrate Martin Bugembe’s goal.
The University Football League reported that “as pitch was clearing, a KIU player was seen to be on the ground surrounded by other players and it was alleged that he was injured. Other KIU players also said they had been injured and they could not continue the match due to security concerns. Then KIU players walked off the pitch and left MUBS soon after. The league Officials will make a decision on the matter after receiving the referee’s report”.

The Ayieko Mbuzi coached MUBS was (at the time) leading 2-0 on aggregate following their 1-0 away win over the Kansanga based KIU.

Actions in the UFL continue Thursday when Nkumba hosts Kyambogo in Entebbe in the other second leg semifinal. The latter defeated the former 1-0 in the first leg played last week.
