East Africa Strong man / Woman Championship

Preparations for the East Africa Strong man/woman have all been geared up. At least 50 participants have already confirmed their participation in the event classified as a NAS level two.

“We are still expecting late entries although a bulk of players like Paul Mullah have already confirmed their participation in the Saturday event whose weigh in will take place on Friday” Muhammed Kalyango, of Muscle Meddy Fitness, the event organizers revealed to Kawowo Sports.

There are two categories set for this championship: scoring and non scoring. The scoring events will include the farmers’ walk, Squat, Dumbbell press, Tyre Flips, Sack Carry, Truck Pull/ Power Stairs, Stick Pulling and Dead Lifts.

The non scoring events include Plank Challenge, Arm Wrestling and the Pull up challenge.

“The event is expected to be very competitive because the best performers will participant in the world muscleman championships slated for Lativia on May 29th 2015” Uganda Power lifting Association president, David Katana added.

One of the most highly anticipated event will be the truck pulling where the legendary Paul Mwebe (of Mityana) will be expected to show case talent for an event he virtually personalized.

“Registration is still on at U.shs 25,000 per participant with the entry tickets at the Silver Springs venue fixed at U.shs 20,000 per head. Gates will open by 10:00 am. There will be trophies , medals and cash rewards to the best participants” Kalyango clarifies.
