Ugandan table tennis youngster lands 2 month’s scholarship in France

Rita Nakumitsa, 17, a Table Tennis player attached to Mbale Tigers Club has been invited for a two month training development program  that commences 30th  September  to 21st December 2015 in Paris France. 

She is expected to play in the French Table Tennis League and Championships during her two month stay in Paris France at Sportif-Asp Neuilly French Table Tennis Club.

The Mbale Progressive School  senior five student secured the scholarship after her impressive performance during  Nabisunsa National Schools Open and the Mbale Table Tennis Open Championship in July 2015.

Nakumitsa is expected to depart the country on Wednesday aboard Qatar Airways at 6pm from Entebbe via Qatar to Paris.

The player’s manager Jude Mutete is excited about the opportunity for the player to use state of the art facilities as well as face experienced opposition.

Saint-Pierre De Nueuilly through ASP-Neuilly Tennis De Table one of the successful club in Paris invited Rita (Nankumitsa) to prepare and sharpen her for the 2016 Rio De Janeiro Olympic qualification event scheduled to be held at the different location around the world and this program will benefit the talented player as she will be interacting with top players and coaching staff

Nankumitsa too, is delighted by the invitation and promised to work hard to improve on her skills.

The French Association Saint-Pierre De Nuevilly, will cater for the player’s accommodation and feeding for the two months of her stay.

Meanwhile, the Uganda Table Tennis Association will pay for her return Air ticket
