Body builder Ivan Byekwaso tipped for USPA September gong

Uganda Sports Press Association (USPA) Monthly Convention:

Sports journalists in Uganda under the unifying umbrella body of the Uganda Sports Press Association (USPA) will convene for their monthly Nile Special run assembly on Monday, 5th October 2015 at Imperial Royale Hotel in Kampala.

Confirming the meeting, the body’s secretary general, Patrick Kanyomozi reminded the members to observe the time factor in a bid to cover the planned agenda of the day.

We shall hold our end of September monthly meeting on Monday, 5th October 2015 at Imperial Royale Hotel in Kampala. Members are reminded to keep time

Pertinent of the issues on the agenda will be an educative session for the members as well the voting for the USPA/Nile Special monthly sports personality.

Body builder, Ivan Byekwaso who recently won gold at the INBA Natural Universe Body Building Championships in the USA is favourite for the award.

Byekwaso is a serious contender for the USPA gong this time round

Byekwaso, 37, won the 67th edition of the global event held at the Zach Topfer theatre in South Lamar, Austin Texas State, United States of America.

He beat close to 120 competitors in the 178cm men natural body building and fitness event.

He will however face stiff challenge from boxer Kennedy Katende winner of a bronze medal in the heavy weight category at the All Africa Games in Congo Brazaville as well as the Badminton star Edwin Ekiring settled for bronze at the same games.

Other sports personalities in the same bracket is Buganda Ssaza team, Singo winners of the 2015 Masaza Cup after beating Buddu 5-0 in a completely one sided encounter held at Namboole National Stadium for the first time.
