Holders Nemostars without their inspirational captain George Aporu lost to KAVC 3-2 who also missed their coach Sheila Omuriwe but were under the guidance of UNIK player Daudi Okello.
Okello majorly relied on Mathew Mwenyi and setter Amon Ainebyona as KAVC won the first two sets 25-22 and 25-18.
Nemostars’ coach Andrew Okapis relied on the experience of setter Smith Okumu and Tom Paul Amou and middle blockers Wilfred Masaba and Erici Ojamuge to bounce back 25-18, 28-26 but lost the tiebreaker 15-9.
Sky also failed to replicate a the performance that saw them go all the way to the finals of the KAVC Tournament before losing to UNIK 3-2. On Wednesday they lost to Sport-S in straight sets, 25-16, 25-22, and 25-19.
The league will resume over the weekend at various grounds in Kampala
