Sport-S see off Ndejje to win National Championships

Women’s Finals

Ndejje 2-3 Sport S (17-25,25-21,21-25,25-17,8-15)

Sport-S ladies continued with their splendid form as they defeated Ndejje Elites 3-2 to win the national clubs championship held at Nkumba University over the weekend.

The Nsambya outfit overcame home side Nkumba in the semifinal before humbling Ndejje, the only ladies’ team to play continental volleyball this year.

The Peace Busingye inspired side took the first set of the game but Ndejje made amends in the second to light up the finale. Sport-S then regained the lead with a 25-21 triumph in the third set.

With defeat looming for Ndejje, they had to dig deep and they managed to force a decisive set as they took the set 25-17.

But it was Sport-S that turned up for the decider and they took the set 15-8 to win the title for the first time since their inception.

It is the second major piece of silverware for Sport-S who lifted the Rwanda Genocide tournament in Kigali early in the year.

The side has also already registered success in the KIU Open and Mbarara Open and will now have full concentration on the national league title.
