CAVB confirms venues for African Club Championships

The Tunisian cities of Tunis and Kelibia have been listed as the hosts for the 2017 Africa Volleyball Club Champions for men and women respectively.

This was revealed by CAVB’s media department who confirmed that the continental body on Monday

CAVB Signed the contracts for hosting the 2017 Men’s and Women’s African Club Championships in Tunis and Kelibia in March for men and April for the women.

A statement released also confirmed that the contracts were signed by CAVB President Dr Amr Elwani in presence of CAVB Vice President Mounir Ben Slimane.

Tunisian Volleyball Federation President Feras El Faleh, Esperance and Carthage representatives Farouk Kato and Khalid Ben Omar were also present.

According to the new sponsoring regulations of CAVB it has become mandatory in CAVB Competition to sign contracts with the organizers and paying the TV rights beside the court advertisements.

Tala’ea El-Gaish SC are the men’s defending champions while Al Ahly SC are the record holders with 11 titles, the latter have won a record eight women titles and are also the holders.

Uganda is expected to be represented by Sky and Sport-S Volleyball Clubs in the men and women competitions respectively after winning the National Club Championship.

In the past only Nemostars and KAVC have managed to represent Uganda in the men’s categories while Nkumba and Ndejje Universities together with Vision Volleyball Camp have represented in the women’s version.
