KCCA coach Mike Mutebi has dropped experienced stars Robert Ssentongo and Vincent Kayizzi from the squad to face Angola’s CD Primeiro de Agosto.

The two sides face off in the second leg of the preliminary round of the CAF Champions League in Angola with the Ugandan side leading 1-0 from the first leg thanks to a Geoffrey Sserunkuma strike at Lugogo last week.

Kayizzi and Ssentongo came on as substitutes in the game at Phillip Omondi stadium, Lugogo but the former was slammed by the gaffer for what he termed as a poor performance on the day.

16-man squad

In an usual manner, the team, which travels in the wee hours of Friday morning, has only 16 players and not the usual 18.

Midfielder Tom Masiko, who was brilliant in the 6-0 win over Lungujja Galaxy SC in the round of 32 in the Uganda Cup.

Besides Kayizzi and Ssentongo, the other  surprise omission from the team is Nigerian midfielder, Sulaimon Akinyemi that also has youngster Allan Okello.

Defenders: Denis Okot (C), Habib Kavuma, Paul Musamali, Timothy Awany
Midfielders: Paul Mucureezi, Isaac Kirabira, Brian Majwega, Tom Masiko, Ivan Ntege, Joseph Ochaya and Muzamir Mutyaba
Strikers: Derrick Nsibambi, Geoffrey Sserunkuma and Allan Okello
