Uganda national basketball teams will have their first practice games this evening at Lugogo Indoor Stadium as coaches try to gauge their readiness for the upcoming Afrobasket qualifiers in Cairo, Egypt.

The women’s team (Gazelles) will take the floor first against a Select Side that has among others Susan Amito, Monica Siima and Florence Nanyonga.

The Gazelles started practice last week and head coach Nicholas Natuhereza says the game will help them assess who can do what for the team.

The Silverbacks will follow with a game against another select side led KIU’s Chris Omanye, Sui Ulanga, Geoffrey Soro and Ettiene Kazungu.

The practice games will also serve as fundraising drives for the teams expected to make the trip to Egypt next Thursday. Every individual will have to pay atleast Shs.5000 to access the game.
