FUFA Big League: Ndejje University ends Maroons’ unbeaten run

Ndejje University 1-0 Maroons

Ndejje University ended Maroons’ unbeaten run of seventeen games in the FUFA Big League with a 1-0 victory on Thursday at Ndejje playground.

The Prisoners had not tasted defeat since their return to the second division, but were made to suffer one following a frustrating display.

Following a goalless first half that saw Maroons miss a few chances, the hosts, through Isaac Muyanga found their winning goal inside 60 minutes after some awful defending from the Prisoners.

Although Maroons -scorers of 35 goals this season- continued to attack, they were unable to break their opponent’s defence.

Solomon Walusimbi, one of Maroons’ top performers this season, was ineffective on the day prompting his coach to substitute him as early as the first half.

With four more games left of play till the end of regular season, the loss leaves Maroons top of the table with 39 points, eight ahead of the University side placed second.

Victory was Ndejje’s eighth of the season.
