The highly anticipated friendly clash between neighbours Kenya and Uganda has been rescheduled.

Earlier fixed on Wednesday March 22, the fixture will now be played the following day, Thursday March 23 at the same venue.

This was confirmed to Kawowo Sports by the Football Kenya Federation (FKF) CEO Robert Muthomi and later Cranes Coach Mulitin ‘Micho’ Sredojevic.

The match has been rescheduled to March 23 following consultations and subsequent consensus between the two associations.

For Micho, the change is set to allow the technical teams have at least an extra day with the players.

We needed one more day to be together and test the players.

Harambee Stars Coach, Stanley Okumbi on Wednesday called up his initial squad of local based players but a further list of foreign players is expected towards the time of the game.

It will be the first time since 2010 that Uganda plays Kenya at the Nyayo stadium where they drew goalless in the 2012 AFCON qualification campaign.

But the last meeting between the two most successful CECAFA nations was at Namboole stadium, last year in a match that ended goalless.
