Goalkeeper Nicholas Sebwato grabbed a late equalizer on Sunday as Bright Stars secured a one-all draw in a dramatic encounter with The Saints at the Champions Stadium, Mwererwe.
The Saints scored first through Dennis Sekitoleko in the 45th minute, and appeared to have earned their second victory in 2017, but the former SC Villa custodian rescued his team when he converted a penalty in the 89th minute.
Sebwato who only returned to action on Tuesday after a two week break handed to him by his technical bench eased the pressure when it all seemed sour for Fred Kajoba whose side was beaten 3-0 by Sadolin Paints last Saturday.
The result means both sides are still searching for their second victory since the turn of the year. Bright Stars’ last victory came on 12th February against Lweza, while The Saints last enjoyed triumph in their 2-0 win over Bul on 17th February.
The draw, coupled with Express’ victory over Kirinya-Jinja drops Bright Stars a place down to eighth.
Meanwhile, The Saints now on 23 points collected from 21 games remain 12th in the league standings.
