The tournament, which will run on a medal format has been for the past 14 years.

Addressing journalists at the press briefing, Uganda Golf Club captain, Prof. Anthony Kerali appreciated the package as he reechoed a glowing praise to the cement manufacturing company for the sponsorship.

We highly value our ever growing relationship with Hima Cement more so, given this particular tournament that they have funded for a long time.

We expect to have a great tournament with the professionals teeing off first on Thursday, climaxing the next day. The main event comes on Saturday.

Charles Mugasa, the marketing director for the sponsors anticipates a bigger and better organized tournament than ever.

We are once again excited to be associated with golf in the country as we have done over the years with other events like kick boxing, football (main sponsors of Vipers sports club) and motor sport.

This year’s captain prize is expected to be bigger given the expected numbers of golfers and the huge financial sponsorship.

Excelling golfers by close of business on Saturday will smile home with different prizes ranging from trophies to golf kits at the awards night and dinner on Saturday evening.
