Vipers assistant coach Richard Wasswa embraces goal hero Milton Karisa after the Platinum Stars match

Milton Karisa has set his sights on increasing his goal tally for Vipers Sports Club starting with the CAF Confederation Cup return leg against Platinum Stars on Saturday.

The former Bul forward has been a regular in Vipers line-up since making the switch from Jinja in January 2017.

Karisa has made six appearances in all competitions for the Venoms and was on target against Platinum Stars in the Confederation Cup first leg at St Mary’s Stadium.

He told the club website that he eased into the team easily because of the rapport he has with teammates and coaches, something he believes will propel him as he wants to score more goals for the club.

“I have a very good relationship with everybody in the team. The coaches and fellow players are very good and they have helped me learn a lot,” he said.

“I want to score more, that’s one target for me. I want to play well and win trophies for my team.”

On his match winning goal against the Dikwena, Karisa said: “That crowd was exciting but the moment was fantastic.

“I was not under any form of pressure because I knew that goal would come. It was only a matter of time,”

Vipers’ technical team headed by Miguel Daurte Da Costa will name the team that will travel to South Africa for the return leg on Thursday afternoon in a press conference at St. Mary’s Stadium.

The Kitende-based side needs a draw to progress to the next round of the continental competition.
