Former Kenya Premier League champions Sofapaka have named Ugandans Mathias Kigonya and John Bagoole among the captains for the 2017 season.
Kigonya, who joined the club last season, is now the first assistant skipper to midfielder Maurice Odipo with Bagoole, third in command.
The former Bright Stars goalkeeper was brilliant for the side after joining midway the second half of the 2016 KPL campaign and is one of the players responsible for the club’s stay in the division.
Meanwhile, it doesn’t end with Kigonya, Bagoole and Ssimbwa as Ugandans at the club as Abdul Ssebale has also been named the goalkeeping coach at the club.
The has club also announced the appointment of former Tusker FC team manager Willis Waliaula in the same capacity
Waliaula and Ssebale join Sam Simbwa who will be the head coach and John Baraza and Martin Ndagano as his assistants.
Sofapaka opens their 2017 league account on Sunday, March 19 at the Afraha Stadium.
