- Pisto signed Onyango from St. George while at SuperSport United
- He says Onyango is a top professional who deserves every achievement
Mamelodi Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane has spoken highly of Ugandan goalkeeper Denis Masinde Onyango who is his player at the club.
Onyango, who is the reigning the PSL Player of the Year as well as African Best Player – based on the continent has been the ‘Brazilians’ number one for the past couple of seasons and Mosimane says he deserves everything.
“When you are provided with a chance, take it,” he told KFS in an interview. “Sundowns provided Denis (Onyango) with an opportunity and he took it which is real fantastic,” he added.
He is a very serious guy, a top professional and has given Uganda a good image out there in South Africa. He has won all the Cups in South Africa, number one goalkeeper in your country and he should be an inspiration to the goalkeeper of KCCA and others in the country as well.
The smiling Mosimane, who is the African Coach of the Year after guiding the Brazilians to the CAF Champions League and Super Cup, further said that Onyango has the set too high for any Ugandan players who want to succeed in South Africa.
Like I said, he deserves it. A very serious player who has set the bar high in South Africa and every Ugandan must look up to him.
Meanwhile, Mosimane hailed the role of Mulitin ‘Micho’ Sredojevic in getting Onyango where he is revealing it’s the Serb, while at St. George that offered the goalie to him at SuperSport United.
Thanks to Coach Micho as well – I knew Onyango through Micho at St. George and also Denis knows it. It has been a chain but am proud of Onyango.
Onyango and Sundowns are in Kampala for the clash against KCCA in the CAF Champions League although the former SC Villa and SuperSport United has been ruled out with an injury.
