Sam Ssimbwa began his second coming at Sofapaka with a defeat as his side lost 1-0 to Sony Sugars.

George Abege, Ssimbwa’s compatriot netted the only goal of the game to sink the Batoto Ba Mungu at Afraha stadium on Sunday.

The former Maroons FC centre forward came off the bench to score a solo goal after beating the Sofapaka backline for dead before slotting home.

Johnson Bagoole and James Kasibante featured for the former Kenyan champions who missed a penalty later in the game to lose all three points.

Elsewhere, George ‘Best’ Nsimbe’s Tusker FC suffered another defeat in the season when they lost 2-0 to Thika United.

The loss, the Brewers’ second in as many games leaves them at the base of the KPL log after two matches in the campaign with no point and a goal difference of -5.

But it was not a bad day for all Ugandan managers in the league as Bandari, coached by Paul Nkata picked a point away against Posta Rangers.

In other results, Gor Mahia maintained their perfect start to the season with a 1-0 win over Zoo Kericho on Saturday, AFC Leopards hammered Nakumatt 3-0, Chemelil Sugar drew 1-1 with Kakamega Boyz, Nzoia drew goalless with Mathare United while Muhoroni Youth won 1-0 at home to Kariobangi Sharks.
