Geoffrey Sserunkuma scored KCCA’s only goal in the game

KCCA suffered a heartbreak with ten minute to time when Liberian forward, Anthony Laffor scored Sundowns equaliser at Phillip Omondi stadium, Lugogo to eject the Kasasiro.

The Ugandan champions had taken a first half lead through lethal Geoffrey Sserunkuma but how did the home side players plus coach rate on the day?

Benjamin Ochan 6.0: Made an absolutely outstanding save in the first half to deny Sundowns skipper Hlompho Kekana from a long range effort. But should have done better with a cross from the left that resulted into the goal.

Denis Okot 5.5: Got forward superbly well and caused Langerman Tebogo all sorts of problem together with Paul Mucureezi but faded in the second half and allowed many crosses into his area.

Joseph Ochaya 5.0: Playing his last game for KCCA, the left back was average on the day. A little better in the first half, substitute Laffor caused him all sorts of problems when he came at the start of the second half.

Timothy Awany 6.0: Made a crucial tackle on Yannick Zakri to prevent Sundowns from leveling the game and looked solid defensively.

Habib Kavuma 6.0: Struggled slightly with long balls towards him but otherwise, was solid and martialled Zakri well until he was beaten by Laffor with a dummy for the equaliser.

Isaac Kirabira 4.0: Struggled to have a real impact in the middle of the pack and often late on tackles against the silky Percy Tau.

Muzamiru Mutyaba 6.5: Was in the middle of everything good for KCCA, controlling play well from the midfield but had little impact of deciding the game as he played a little far from the final third.

Allan Okello 5.0: The youngster got a surprise starting berth and had a few nice touches and controlled the ball well but didn’t have the impact he would have liked.

Paul Mucureezi 6.0: His directness caused Langerman all sorts of problems in the first half but against all odds, he was replaced four minutes into the second half and that gave the big left back time and space to venture forward.

Geoffrey Sserunkuma 7.0: His centre forward’s finish put the hosts into a deserved lead and his movement in the area often left Nascimento guessing. Nonetheless, he missed a great chance to make it 2-0 in the first half.

Brian Majwega 7.0: The midfielder caused the visitors all sorts of problems down the left and created the only goal for KCCA with a well weighed low cross. Only denied a second assist by a miss from Sserunkuma but the decision to switch him to the right after Paul Musamali came on took something out of his game.

Paul Musamali 4.0: He created no impact when he came on for Mucureezi and this maybe the change that cost the Kasasiro.

Sulaimon Akinyemi 4.0: Crucified by his manager for failure to interprete game and was later hauled off half an hour after coming on.

Robert Ssentongo N/a: Replaced Akinyemi in the closing stages of the game but had little impact against the big centre backs Nascimento and Bangaly.

Coach Mike Mutebi 5.0: He was brave enough to start a young Allan Okello for arguably the biggest game of KCCA season so far but let himself down with two early changes in the second half.
