FUFA Big League: Kibirango nets brace as 10 man Masavu wins at Hope Doves

Saad Kibirango scored his first goals at Masavu in the FUFA Big League as the Entebbe based side overcame Hope Doves 2-1 at the Mutesa II Stadium, Wankulukuku.

The diminutive winger cum striker hit a double in the game to stretch Masavu’s lead in Rwenzori Group to 10 points over second placed Mbarara City.

Masavu head coach, Allan Kabonge completed his one match touchline ban at a time they missed the services of central defender Brian Nsubuga who was away for national team duty with Uganda Cranes on the Eastern Region tour (the national team won 3-0).

For Bwala and Nkumba University winger Fred Umon was red carded for Masavu after picking up two yellow cards.

In the other Rwenzori Group duel, Nyamityobora lost the battle to Water 2-0 at Kyambogo West End Playground.

Masavu edged closer to attaining promotion to the Uganda Premier League as they have now collected 43 points with less than 5 matches to play.

Sporting United and Bright Light ended in a 1-1 stalemate in a game played in Lira.

Three clubs shall be promoted from the Big League to the Premier League.
