Vipers’ impressive midfielder Moses Waiswa and striker Milton Karisa are the new faces on the Uganda Cranes’ side that will face Kenya in the International Friendly  at the Kenyatta stadium in Machakos, Nairobi.

Returning faces:

Crizestom Ntambi who turns out for Jimma Aba Buna in Ethiopia, St George’s Yassar Mugerwa, SC Villa’s Emmanuel Okwi, KCCA’s Habib Kavuma and Brian Majwega return to the fold after some time out.

Milutin ‘Micho’ Sredejovic has told Kawowo Sports in an exclusive interview that the returning players and new faces have proved themselves worthy to be included on the team.

The national team is for players who have proven themselves and such players (new and the returning) are considered because of their current form.

On form players as Geoffrey Sserunkuma (KCCA), Benjamin Ochan (KCCA), Ismail Watenga (Vipers) and Moses Waiswa (Vipers) are on the team.

No Training:

It is an 18 man that groups on Monday evening at Sky Hotel in Ntinda. There will be no training in Kampala but the team will train upon arrival in Nairobi on Tuesday morning.

The team will depart for Nairobi on Tuesday morning aboard Kenya Airways.

According to the FUFA spokesman, Ahmed Hussein, the six foreign based players will connect directly to Nairobi.

The foreign based players will link up in Nairobi from their respective clubs and join the contingent that will have flown from Entebbe International Airport.

The six foreign based players are; Murushid Juuko (Simba, Tanzania), Shafiq Batambuze (Tusker, Kenya), Godfrey Walusimbi (Gor Mahia, Kenya), Hassan Wasswa Mawanda (Nijmeh, Lebanon), Crizestom Ntambia (Jimma Aba Buna) and Yassar Mugerwa (Saint George, Ethiopia)

The two CECAFA rivals will face off in a friendly match on Thursday at the Machakos stadium.
