Over 50 riders braved the soggy Victoria Race Track Garuga to compete in the second round of the National Motocross Championship on Sunday.
The rivalry between William Blick and Miguel Katende in the MX50 peewee was one of the highlights of the Garuga meet.
Miguel who was beaten to the title by Blick last season underlined his intentions this time round coming out top in the three heats.
However, Blick retains the overall lead with 117 points; 12points ahead of Miguel.
In the MX50 senior category, Isabella Blick continues to dominate winning all the three heats to extend her overall lead.
Still in 50cc, Mubarak Senoga saw his first podium finish of the season in second after Gift Sebuguzi.
Imran Nkrunziza came out top in the MX 65 winning all heats beating Malcolm Lubega into second place and Marcus Bukenya in third.
In the MX85cc, Fortune Ssentamu was not so fortunate after winning all the three heats he was disqualified for using ineligible bike, putting Wazir Omar on top ahead of Ben Nsuba and Ronald Nyanzi respectively.
Alestair Blick is firmly in charge of MX125cc class after winning all the three heats. The expected challenge from guest rider Olivier Fietzek from Rwanda never materialised as he was off pace while Ali ‘Bobo’ Omar was involved in an accident in the opening heat.
Asaf Natan on his new Yamaha 2017 450CC, relegated Maxime Van Pee, the reigning MX1 champion to second position.
The next event is scheduled for April 14th which will play the first round of FIM Regional Motocross challenge.
