Former Power Basketball Club coach Brian Wathum has been appointed KIU Titans coach.

He replaces Chris Kyambadde whose contract with the Kansanga side expired at the end of last season.

“Brian Wathum has joined our technical team as Assistant Coach,” KIU Titans’ Patron, Nasser Serunjojji told Kawowo Sports.

Wathum, who has previously coached Knight Riders, JKL and has been out coaching since leaving Power last season, says it was not a difficult decision to make.

“KIU Titans is an organized basketball institution that has a philosophy. I missed the game, and it’s good to be back.”

Titans stumbled in the semifinals at the hands of a Joseph Ikong led Power last year despite being tipped to challenge City Oilers for the championship at the start of the season.

Having trimmed the roster, kept the core of the team and signed a few players, nothing will be expected from Hamza Nyambogo and Brian Wathum less than a finals appearance.
