Kenya Harambee Stars Head Coach Stanley Okumbi has promised to ring changes when his side take on DR Congo.

The two sides face off at the Kenyatta stadium, Machakos a couple of days after Kenya drew 1-1 with Uganda Cranes at the same venue.

Okumbi didn’t play most of his first choice squad on Thursday but says they will return against DR Congo.

“It was good to give other players chance to play at this level as well,” he told Kawowo Sports after the draw with The Cranes. “Our plan was to test most of the players that have not played regularly for the Harambee Stars and we saw what they can do,” he added.

First choice goalie Boniface Olouch, skipper Victor Wanyama, the centre back pairing of David Ochieng and David Owino plus Joackins Atudo were all left out against Uganda.

“They will play against DR Congo on Sunday,” promised Okumbi.

Meanwhile, the soft spoken tactician wants the team to start putting away chances they create.

Despite being dominant on Thursday, they could only beat Benjamin Ochan in Cranes’ goal once and Okumbi wants more.

We need start putting away chances we create. Against Uganda, we created like 4-5 but only scored once. The beauty is that we create many chances and that means if we start scoring, they will be in plenty.

Kenya beat the former African champions and CHAN title holders 1-0 in a friendly last year.
