Ugandan representatives at this year’s Africa Clubs Championship Ndejje Elites defeated Cameroonian side FAP 3-0 to finish eleventh.

After failing to hit their desired target of reaching the quarterfinals, Ndejje had to tussle it out for a respectable placement.

A commanding performance in their last game at the championship saw Johnson Kawenyera’s charges thump FAP 3-0 (25 – 19, 26-24, 25-22) to clinch 11th place.

Johnson Kawenyera’s charges fell to Cameroonian outfit INJS in their final group game to miss out on making the quarters.

Drawn in Pool A, the Ugandan outfit lost to Carthage in straight sets before defeating ASEC of Ivory Coast in their second game.

The game with INJS was a decider for the two sides battling for a quarterfinal berth and the West Africans nicked it to put an end to Ndejje’s dream of making the quarters.

Ndejje, who made their debut on the continent in 2013, were the only Ugandan side to have made the tournament with National Clubs Championship winners Sport-S failing to raise funds to travel.

Ndejje’s best performance came in 2013 when they made their debut in Antananarivo, Madagascar.

Vision Volleyball Camp remain as Uganda’s best performing side at the event having posted a 7th place finish in 2014.
