After claiming gold at the 2017 Kampala World Cross Championships at Kololo Independence Grounds, Kenya’s Geoffrey Kamworor is now getting ready for the inaugural Mully Half marathon due May 14 in Yatta, Machakos County.

Kamworor – who trailed Uganda’s Joshua Cheptegei in the final stretch got his crown back off a final catch-up, off the Ugandan – totally out of gas.

Kamworor having repeated the accolade in 28:24 now seeks another triumph in this particular event – according to former Kenya national athletics coach Joshua Kiragu.

Kiragu told Capital Fm, “Kamworor will be using the event to launch his track and field season as he prepares to make Team Kenya’s squad for the IAAF World Athletics Championships in London in August.”

Kamworor boasts two individual and one team gold medals in Half Marathons. He won the accolades in Copenhagen and Cardiff twice respectively.
