Two sides looking to return to winning ways lock horn at Bombo Barracks Grounds as relegation threatened The Saints host Proline on Friday.
Last time out, Proline threw a 2-1 lead to lose 3-2 to Soana at Kavumba Recreational Ground while Moses Basena’s men were beaten 2-0 by their relegation rivals Lweza at Wankulukuku. Both sides will be keen to return to winning ways as the season nears its closure.
The two sides shared spoils in the reverse fixture in form of a 2-2 draw at the Phillip Omondi Stadium, Lugogo. With five games left for The Saints placed 13th in the league to play, the side will be desperate for three points tomorrow as their struggle to stay in the league continues.
Proline are in a good position in the league at the moment, but further setbacks will see them dragged to the relegation dogfight as only five points separate them from Lweza placed 14th in the table standings.
The visitors will base their hopes on on-form striker Nelson Ssenkatuka. The former KCCA striker took his tally to eight goals two weeks ago with his brace against Soana, and Mujib Kasule’s side will bank on him for goals.
The Saints on other hand will rely on Julius Malingumu for goals.
Four points separate Basena’s side seated 13th with 26 points from Proline placed eighth.
