Race for women elite slot on as the Buganda regional league kicks off

The race for the available slot in the FUFA Women Elite league shall start on Sunday, 23rd April 2017 as the Buganda regional women league gets underway at Light College Katikamu in Masuliita.

There are three matches lined up on the day as hosts Light College Katikamu will host Bugema University, among other games.

God Cares High school will then play fast conquering Taggy High School from Entebbe in the second match before Light Secondary and Vocational School, Bulenga will take on Kiira S.S girls.

According to a technical committee official, Hamidu Kasozi, the champion of the league after both first and second legs shall automatically qualify to the FUFA Women Elite league for th 2017/18 season.

This year, we have six teams that have confirmed to play in the Buganda regional league. This tier is a promotional league to the senior women elite league.

Only the champion will qualify to play in the top flight

The FUFA Women Elite league has now existed for three years since inception in 2014 under the Moses Magogo regime.

For the last two seasons, Kawempe Muslim has been the champion.
