KCCA FC manager Mike Mutebi is happy with picking one point off title challengers SC Villa at Recreation Ground, Masaka on Saturday evening.

The two sides shared spoils as Emanuel Okwi’s late penalty canceled put Geoffrey Sserunkuuma’s goal to ensure the table leaders stayed within range.

“It is a fair result and it helps us to stay top of the log,” Mutebi said at the end of the game.

The tactician praised his team’s effort en-route to their second successive draw in the league.

“It was a good game despite the bad surface. The two sides played well,” he added.

SC Villa head coach Wasswa Bossa and his team were denied two penalties in the final ten minutes with defender Timothy Awany and midfielder Isaac Kirabira appearing to have handled the ball inside the forbidden area.

KCCA also had their penalty appeal waved away by Brian Nsubuga as Muzamir Mutyaba looked to have been brought down by left back John Adriko.

Sserunkuuma and Awany also had their headers cleared off the line in the second half of the game.

KCCA and Villa remain level on 48 points with the defending champions enjoying a better goal difference.

KCCA tough series of games will now see Mutebi’s charages take on Vipers and Express on Tuesday and Friday respectively.

Villa have played 3 games more than KCCA as the title race edges closer to the finish line.
