Kirinya-Jinja SSS keep survival hopes alive

League debutants Kirinya-Jinja SSS kept their survival hopes alive as they picked up a vital point in a goalless draw against relegation candidates Lweza on Tuesday at the Muteesa II Stadium, Wankulukuku.

The side rose to tenth thanks to a better goal difference – dislodging local rivals Bul who succumbed to a 1-0 defeat to Soana and are now just a point away from safety.

Lweza again had a day to forget in front of their own fans after failing to make the best of their chances.

They were by far the most lively of the two sides only to be let down by their forwards, particularly Francis Sembatya who at the death of the game had goalkeeper Tom Ikara to beat, but shot straight to the custodian’s hands.

Lweza remain in the relegation zone and now with 29 points, have to beat Police in their final game and pray Bright Stars or Bul who lost their respective games on Tuesday falter in their finals as well.

Bright Stars play already relegated JMC side at the Champions Stadium, Mwererwe,  Bul are at home to Onduparaka on Saturday.
