Nigeria, Togo posing for a photo together after the intense match

Nigeria’s Ahmed Musa and Kelechi Iheanacho netted Super Eagles’ three goals as the nation defeated Togo in a Paris friendly.

The duo had too much firepower for an over-matched Togo, with all the goals arriving inside the opening half hour.

Musa opened the scoring inside two minutes – when Fatao Alhassani Dida failed to punch Alex Iwobi’s cross to safety.

Coach Gernot Rohr named a side without the regular starters John Obi Mikel, Victor Moses, Ogenyi Onazi and Carl Ikeme but those available delivered.

Iwobi teed up Musa to double his tally and Togo were further behind 10 minutes later when Oghenekaro Etebo rounded Dida with ease, leaving Iheanacho to tap into an unguarded net.

Nigeria now head into their World Cup qualification double-header against African champions Cameroon at the start of next season with hope and positivity.
