Farouk Daku to fight French Polynesia’s Cedric Bellais for RBO title

After sensationally capturing the WBU Intercontinental title two months ago, Farouk ‘Malingumu’ Daku’s next assignment is a bout against a French Polynesia’s Cedric Bellais.

The Ugandan boxer based in Netherlands will battle the 28-year-old in the Light heavyweight for the Royal Boxing Organization [RBO] title on Friday 9th June in Tahiti.

Daku outpointed Tanzanian Said Juma Mbelwa after ten rounds to capture his latest title, and now has his sights set on the RBO title.

Against Bellais, Daku comes up against a boxer who boasts of 18 wins out of 29 fights. The Tahiti born has lost only six bouts in his career while drawing three. Daku on the other hand has been on the losing side 13 times, drawn once and has 21 wins to his name.

“He lost to Bilel Latreche for the French title on points and I lost to Bilel on IBF Europe on points after 12 rounds so I respect him and take him serious, but I’m going to put all that I have in this fight,” Daku said of his opponent.

Daku is the current WBU Intercontinental champion while Bellais is the reigning WBF Intercontinental champion.
