Prior to the first leg of this year’s Elgon Cup tie at Legends, Rugby Cranes assistant coach Robert Sseguya revealed that the 23 players who were named owned no permanent place on the team.
The former Rugby Cranes star made it clear that even those left out had not been dropped and still had a chance to play when the team travels to Nairobi.
On Tuesday, Sseguya and his senior John Duncan, will name the team to travel to Nairobi on Thursday morning for the game on Saturday.
Because the team will fly from Nairobi to Senegal on Sunday morning, Duncan and Sseguya will travel to Nairobi with 27 players.
Although the coaches have not revealed the players to make the team, Mathias Ochwo, Chris Lubanga and Kevin Makmot are some of those tipped to break into the squad.
The combination of Pius Ogena and Michael Wokorach didn’t offer much in the first leg while Aaron Ofoyrwoth made a mistake in his first piece of action after replacing Ivan Kirabo.
Lubanga, who played the bigger part of last year, is the other fly half in the squad and could be called upon to deputize Ivan Magomu.
