8th CPAU Junior Woodball Championship

A total of 44 schools (20 primary and 24 secondary schools) have duly confirmed their participation for the much awaited CPAU Junior Woodball Championship.

Historical school, Kings College Buddo will host the day long championship on Saturday, 24th June 2017 starting at 9 am.

At least 432 participants will be part of the annual championship.

Like it has been in the previous editions, the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Uganda (ICPAU) has once again come onboard to finance the event with a Shs10M package.

For the 8th year running, ICPAU has been supporting the championship.

Last year’s event was won by Green Acres Junior School in the boys and girls categories. Kiddawalime Preparatory School and Nalugala Muslim were 2nd and 3rd respectively.

John Patrick Okure of Motherwell Junior was best boys’ overall player as Green Acres’ Ahmed Rukia Ahmed took the girls’ honour.

Kyambogo College School took the secondary school top crown,  followed by St. Kizito High School Namugongo and Luzira Secondary School in the boys category.

Kyambogo College School also won the Girls trophy followed by Mary Reparatrix Secondary School and Mpoma School.

Ibanda Erick of St. Kizito High School Namugongo was the best in boys with 60 strokes as Birungi Brenda of Kyambogo College School won the girl’s category with 68 strokes.

This year round, tight competition is expected from Mpoma School, Kyambogo College, Luzira Secondary Airforce Secondary School, and Kings College Budo in secondary schools.

In primary schools, Nalugala Muslim, Green Acres, Entebbe Junior St. Agnes primary school Entebbe will tussle for top honours.
