Rwamagana F.C

Rwamagana Football Club has been disqualified by Rwanda Football Federation (FERWAFA) Executive Committee from the final of the 2017 second Division League for use of an ineligible player.

The player in question is Micomyiza Pie who was fielded by Rwamagana City in the first leg of the semi-final round of the second division League while not appearing on their official squad list submitted to and approved by Rwanda Football Federation (FERWAFA).

Miroplast Football Club which had lost in the semifinal has thus been reinstated.

The decision followed a protest made by Miroplast  after the semifinal clash on June 11, 2017 at Gishari grounds, Eastern Province.

In a statement, FERWAFA communicated;

Rwamagana City FC is at fault of fielding an eligible player in the first leg of the semi-final round of this competition.

This followed Investigations by FERWAFA and on the basis of documents provided by the Rwamagana City as well as the official squad list approved by Rwanda Football Federation ahead of the start of the second round of the second division league.

Rwamagana City was thus declared losers of the semi-final round of the 2017 Second Division League against Miroplast FC and consequently being eliminated from the competition.

The final of the 2017 Second Division League will be played on June 24, 2017.
