Defending champions Wananchi go into their last game of the first round looking to register their second win of the campaign.
It’s been a cold round for the record league winners who lost two successive games at the start of the campaign, but on Sunday against Simba, the side will be hoping to end the round on a fine note.
Considering how poorly Simba played in their last two games, it doesn’t look like it’ll be too much of a problem for Wananchi to come out victors on Sunday.
And seeing how they pummeled Rockets last weekend, they seem to have recovered from their blip. Wananchi annihilated the bottom side 8-1 as they secured their first win of the new season.
While the quality of Rockets was in question, it was a superior performance from the reigning champions, one that handed them their first three points.
They will be looking to register another convincing result as they try to reduce the point gap atop.
Simba looked feeble last weekend against Weatherhead. They started very well and went on to take the lead, but once they conceded an equalizer, they took their feet off the pedal and it was all Weatherhead from that point. That game ended 2-1 with Simba suffering their second defeat of the season.
Simba started the campaign very well, beating Rockets 5-0, but lost to Kampala Stallions in their second game.
They currently sit second last with three points, same as their Sunday opponents, but Wananchi sit a place above.
