Former Uganda Cranes’ captain Sekagya and defender Kalungi enjoy dinner in New York

After a hard day’s work on Saturday, former teammates Henry Kalungi and retired captain reunited for dinner in New York.

Currently part of the coaching staff at New York Red Bulls II, Ibrahim Sekagya first witnessed Charlotte Independence defeat his side three goals to two, Kalungi manning the defence.

Charlotte came riding on a club-best five game winning streak and opened the match with a goal in the 21st minute off a set piece from the foot of Jorge Herrera.

They later doubled the lead through NYRB II defender Hassan Ndam who redirected into his own net for a 2-0 lead, Enzo Martinez finding the third.

The visitors however conceded two as the match closed out. David Najem scored his first career goal for New York while Junior Flemmings added another late on.

Kalungi and Sekagya met after the match to shared a few light moments over dinner, probably reminiscing in the memories of Uganda Cranes and football in general.
