Aristide Bance has explained why he opted to join Tunisia’s Al Masry despite having offers from various clubs all over the world.
The Burkinabe centre forward signed a two-year deal with the Egyptian side from Ivory Coast’s ASEC Mimosas and immediately said the chance to play under the legendary Hossam Hassan.
“I am happy to be here in Egypt and especially with Al Masry,” Bance said after signing his contract as quoted by BBC Sport.
I had many offers but picked up Al Masry because of their head coach Hossam Hassan who is one of African football’s legends.
Since I was a young I used to watch him playing and it’s an honour to play under his leadership today.
Besides playing under the former Egypt captain, Bance says he was attracted by the fan base of the Al Masry.
I know Al Masry is a big team here in Egypt and has a lot of fans and that encouraged me to sign.
Al Masry is the side KCCA eliminated at the Total CAF Confederation Cup play off to reach the group stages.
The Lugogo based side won the first leg 1-0 at home before losing by the same score line but won the penalty shootout.
