Steven ‘Nesta’ Mugisha has made known of his resolve to repay Police for giving him another chance to play in the Uganda Premier League following his return to the club.

The midfielder cum defender played for the Cops in the 2015-16 season, and scored a couple of goals, but due to limited game time, ended the relationship with the former league champions.

Mugisha had a brief stint at Muhoroni Youth in the Kenya Premier League, but his appearances for the side that earned promotion to KPL in 2011 were limited to a few friendly games before the 2016-17 season kicked off.

The two parties failed to strike a deal that would have seen the player feature for the side in the league.

“It feels good to be back home in a more organized and professional atmosphere where players are respected and given a fair chance to compete,” Mugisha said.

“I worked with Abdallah [Mubiru] before. He knows me as a central defender and has faith in me. I want to keep it that way meaning I have to work really hard and give my best.

“I have grown mentally and physically compared to when I was first here, and I know best the coaches playing styles whether as a defensive midfielder or a defender. The coaches and I have the same philosophy of passing the ball so I believe our relationship will be a great one.

“I want to thank the club for giving me this opportunity.  I’m going to give my all.” He added.

Mugisha put pen to paper on a six-month deal that is renewable with better performances. The midfielder joins from Hope Doves.
