There should be no worry for many Uganda Cranes ardent fans concerning the injury status of king pin defender Savio Kabugo.

After suffering a knock on Wednesday, Kabugo limped out with pain on the side of the abdomen. He rested out the rest of the training as the recovery path started.

To the joy of the technical team, Kabugo trained well on Thursday during the evening session.

He could jump with ease, sprint, head the ball, pass with comfort and engaged in what he does best – battling in physical tackles.

Speaking to Kawowo Sports after the Thursday session, Kabugo expressed the readiness to play;

I feel much better. I applied ice as recommended by the medics.

I rested well and today, I feel no pain. I am ready to serve my country on Saturday against Rwanda.

The burly Proline defender is arguably one of the most experienced members on the current Uganda Cranes CHAN team.

He makes a massive call to the fans to grace the match and rally behind the team.

“I call upon the fans to come in big numbers and support us during the match. We promise to serve to the best of our expectations,” Kabugo, who is expected to play alongside Bernard Muwanga or Rashid Toha stated.

Meanwhile, both countries will hold the final training sessions on Friday afternoon at the St Mary’s Stadium, Kitende.

Uganda will train at 2 p.m before Rwanda is expected to start their session by 4 p.m.
